Brooks Defyance

Activities/Actions:

A new pair of shoes--Brook Defyance. Following a review on Runner's World. Brought on July 10th at Footaction.com, shipped to Meng-shin and brought them back to Taipei on the 8/1 by MS's Mom. I biked to Banciao to get them. :)

This new shoe should look pretty familiar. Brooks removed the internal support post from its well-liked Adrenaline GTS 7 and replaced the previous version's stiff insole board with a layer of soft foam. The result of these changes is the Defyance, a shoe that's soft, flexible, and hugs the foot like a tight pair of jeans. Our testers raved about the shoe's comfort, and our lab tests confirmed that the Defyance is substantially softer than the GTS 7. We recommend the shoe for light- to average-weight runners with high arches who don't overpronate.

July Runs

Start my training schedule... Weather is good but getting a little bit hot...

Note and reflections:

This month, Yu-Hsiang joined my run twice (22nd and 29th), and Yi-Xiao joined us once (22nd). Pei-ling biked along with me once (28th). Anita and Cindy have not run for awhile; Anita said she gave up! How come??

On the 12th, I did a hike with Arnold, Guo-yan and his girlfriend. The hike was great and the music festival at Fulong was awesome too! [see detail at An Adventure on Formosa].

Finally, we got 11 people in our team for Nike+ Human Race on the 31st of August!--dubbed as "TEAM ELEVEN." Wayne and other three of his friends registered in the team as well.
