Week 20 Monday - The Firefly

The Firefly

Buddhists believe that on the night after the bone collecting ceremony a soul the death will come home. This night Mom and Dad prepare grandma's favorite food placed in kitchen. We believe that she will eat the food if she comes back. My parents, an grandma's friend and I sleep at where Grandma usually slept. We turn off light around 9p. Being half-sleep-half-awake state, I hear a sound of moter bike coming towards home. A few minutes after that Dad is saying something, but I don't quite understand. I am still half-sleep-half-awake, which later Edd, a brother, comes back home. Then I awake. Mom and Dad mentions about a firefly flying around before Edd comes. The firefly circled around our mosquito net and tried to get into Edd's room. Also, this flyfire tried to get upstair but moved back down again. Dad's voice was when he talked to this firefly. After Edd arrived, Firefly flew out of the house. We believe that this firefly may be Grandma. Edd does not seem like the story so he gets into his room. I cannot sleep now; my heart is beating fast. Awhile later dad is saying something again. I open my eyes and see a bright yellow light Firefly flying over my head. I do not see anything else without my glasses except the bright yellow light. It circles couple rounds without a blink. "Don't worry about me, Grandma," I speak, "please go to eat something in the kitchen." Firefly moves to Edd's bedroom door and later flies to the upstair. Dad follows Firefly up the stairs and quietly observes. A few minutes after Dad comes down, the yellow light flies out of a window near the stairs. Almost the rest of the night I could not sleep; many sequences of stories pass through my head constantly.
